Abstract
We expected to see a significant increase in the demand for care workers for the elderly due to rapid aging, however the number of care workers for the elderly who are active is significantly lower than the number of qualified workers. In the meantime, research on care workers for the elderly has been conducted around research on switching their job, while research on giving up care workers¡¯ occupations has not been conducted due to limitations in research with data. Accordingly, this study established a data set for 10 years of follow-up for care workers for the elderly to explore factors that influenced the abandonment of care workers¡¯ occupations. Studies have shown lower probability of giving up care workers¡¯ occupations as the age increases, a lower probability stop working of home care workers for the elderly, and a lower probability of engaged in a public facility. Finally, the higher the annual salary the lower probability stop working. Based on these findings, we proposed a plan to manage the personnel of care workers for the elderly.
